It’s not long now until Beyonce gives birth to her twins. And to celebrate the impending arrival, the 35-year-old superstar was thrown a ‘push party’ on Saturday in Beverly Hills, attended by her family and closest friends.
Some of the famous faces joining in with the baby shower celebrations included Bey’s BFF Kelly Rowland, her sister Solange, Michelle Williams, Serena Williams and LaLa Anthony.
The Drunk In Lovesinger’s mum Tina Lawson shared a video from inside the bash showing all her friends shouting: “Happy Carter Push Party!”
In the video she shared music playing in the background is no other than our very own Nigerian multi-instrumentalist and Afrobeat legend, “Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s” music.
You will recall how she paid homage to Yoruba goddess,Yemoja, in a poem soon after announcing her pregnancy back in February.
Beyonce’s song writer, The-Dream, revealed in an interview that he recorded an entire, unreleased album with Beyonce prior to 2011 LP 4, inspired by Fela. According to the producer behind hits “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” and “Run The World (Girls),” the project was inspired by Nigerian Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.
According to People magazine, Beyonce was proudly baring her belly at the party after being covered in henna tattoos.
