Oba of Lagos to open 37th ANA national convention

CULTURE and art-loving monarch, Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, will declare the 37th Association of Nigerian Authors, ANA national convention slated for October 25 to 28th, 2018 open in Lagos.

The Olowo Eko , who has also accepted the offer to be the royal patron of the association, in the presence of his chiefs and elders during a courtesy visit led by ANA Lagos Chapter Chairman, Mr. Yemi Adebiyi, who was accompanied by Mr. Akin Adeoya, chairman, Local Organising Committee for the convention, Lagos 2018; Hon. Feyi-Abiodun Samson Oyeniyi, Lagos State Chapter Public Relations Officer II and spokesman for the LOC, and Ms. Yinka Kadiri, chairperson of Publicity/Media Management Committee, explained that Lagos remained one of the most hospitable states as Nigerians have enjoyed her benevolence. “There is hardly any one among the extremely rich Nigerians in history, who has not shared in the hospitality and endless benevolence of Lagos gods of wealth,” he said.

According to Oba Akiolu, “I pray for a successful entry and exit of all participants at your convention. I wish you success and pray that no evil shall distort or destroy the success of the entire programme.

And out of my tight schedule, I will find time to not only attend but, to support you beyond the period of the event,” he affirmed.

On his part, Mr. Adebiyi, said that the visit to the Oba-in-Council was to accord the paramount ruler respect by formally informing and inviting him to the august programme. “ This visit became a necessity based on the fact that no responsible individual or organisation can organise or hold an event of the magnitude of ANA national convention without letting the

Alayeluwa, a prominent royal father such as Oba of Lagos, to not only be aware but be formally informed and involved,” observed ANA Lagos chairman.
