Three suspect in police net for stealing plasma TV


THE Niger State Police Command has arrested three suspected hoodlums for allegedly stealing plasma television sets in Kwarkwata village , Dutsen Kura , Minna , the state capital.

Isiaku Salaum , Nasem Mati and Jamilu Ibrahim all from Funtua, Katsina were apprehended by the police Special Anti – Robbery Squad operatives on a tip – off

It was learnt that the suspects broke into the shop of one Umar Salamudeen , of Sabon Gari Minna and carted away two plasma television sets valued at N 80 , 000.

Northern City News gathered on Tuesday that the suspects sold one of the TV sets to one Mohammed Sanusi for N 25 , 000 and the second one to Abubakar Sani .

Salaum told our correspondent that he stole the TV sets to raise money for Sallah celebration .

“ I don’ t have anything for this Sallah celebration , money was not forthcoming , so I decided to break into people ’ s houses . I need money to buy certain things for the Sallah since my parents refused to give me anything, ” he explained .

The Police Public Relations Officer , Muhammad Abubakar, said two plasma TV sets were recovered from the suspects , adding that operatives were on the trail of Sani who bought one of the stolen items .
